Gaman: “Enduring the seemingly unbearable with patience and dignity.”

Jeffrey Fanning, a fourth-generation descendant of the Ichinaga clan, is president and founder of Rainy Day Roofing, Inc – A Japanese-American owned and MBE certified company. With over 25 years of experience in the roofing industry and involvement in all aspects of the roofing process, Jeffrey took to heart the tenets of “gaman” in his craft: understanding that his life’s work should reflect endurance with patience and dignity. He began his career in material delivery, rising to laborer and superintendent, then diligently earning a path to chief executive.

With years of hands-on experience in both residential and commercial, Jeffrey manages Rainy Day Roofing with the same focus, patience, and endurance as his lineage reflected. His Japanese-American upbringing informs his passion to diversify the construction industry – He purposefully hires from a wide range of backgrounds, and cultivates relationships with minority and women-owned businesses.

Jeffrey is a highly active community member with strong ties to the Japanese America Society, Japanese American Citizens League, and regularly supports Japanese American National Museum efforts. In his spare time, he enjoys camping with his daughter and three sons, doing his best to instill and extend his family’s tenets.

With extensive knowledge of roofing and a relentless commitment to pride in heritage, Jeffrey has guided Rainy Day Roofing, Inc. to premier excellence to both workmanship and customer service throughout the roofing industry.
